The Masked Singer: Teyana Taylor wins season seven trophy after emotional performance as Firefly

Teyana Taylor won season seven of The Masked Singer on Wednesday after performing as Firefly on the hit Fox show.

Confetti rained down on her when she was crowned the winner and show host Nick Cannon, 41, asked her why she decided to be on the show.

'I was like this would be something really nice to do, and just be able to just sing and it'll be fun again, and there's just no judgment,' the 31-year-old R&B artist said. 'Nobody knows who's behind the mask. You just get to sing your heart out.'

'That's what you did. You sang your heart out and you won. Your husband just won Dancing With The Stars and now you won The Masked Singer,' Nick said. 'Y'all got all types of trophies at the crib.'

'Yeah, I got to put this next to the Mirror Ball,' Teyana said referencing the show's coveted Golden Mask trophy.

Earlier in the show Teyana, as Firefly, performed an emotional rendition of 'Lost Without U' by Robin Thicke. After winning, she said the song was very dear to her.

'I cried the whole time I sang it, so this means a lot to me, and thank you so much,' Teyana said. 'I'm so humbled and so grateful.'

'I'm flattered and choked up,' Robin, 45, said when she performed his song. 'That song was supposed to feel exactly the way you made it feel.'

Before she was unmasked, each of the panelists tried to guess her identity. Firefly's clues included: a basketball net, a keyboard, and a faded 'M.' 

Firefly, wearing a tight black latex outfit and a giant insect inspired mask, took the stage and performed Bad Girl by Usher.

Robin and Jenny McCarthy, 49, both guessed correctly that it was Teyana. 

Nicole Scherzinger, 43, thought instead that it was Monica. 

Ken Jeong, 52, believed that she was Alicia Keys.

Hayley Orrantia, 28, from The Goldbergs, came in second place for the season after performing as Ringmaster.

She wore a giant circus tent and performed Gravity by Sara Bareilles for her first song of the night and Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry for her second song.'

Her clues included a Disney mouse and Simon Cowell.

Second place: Hayley Orrantia, 28, from The Goldbergs, came in second place for the season after performing as Ringmaster

'Ringmaster, Ringmaster, Ringmaster,' the crowd cheered for her.

'This is a star making performance,' Ken said. 'You've just been on a trajectory.'

'The perfect end to a perfect season,' Nick said.

Final two: Firefly and Ringmaster were in the final two before the coveted Golden Mask trophy went to Teyana

Before her unmasking, Robin thought she might be Maren Morris. Ken said he thought she was Hailee Steinfeld. Nicole instead thought that it was Lucy Hale. Jenny guessed she was Hayden Panettiere.

Nick asked her why she came on the show.

'Honestly, I have loved music my entire life and became more known for working on The Goldbergs as an actress,' Hayley said. 'But you have no idea how much it means to me to be able to do what I love in front of you all.'

Actor Cheyenne Jackson was behind The Prince mask, a giant green frog mask topped with a golden crown, and was the first contestant voted off in the finale and came in third for the season. He performed 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay earlier in the show.

Album suggestion: 'You need to do an album,' Nicole said. 'You were your own powerhouse'

Jenny guessed from the Prince's final clues that included Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee, and Broadway, that his identity was Ben Platt. Robin thought instead that it was Ricky Martin. Ken believed it was Matt Bomer. Nicole was the only one who correctly guessed Cheyenne's identity.

Nicked asked him about his experience being on the show.

'What I would say is if something scares you, do it,' Cheyenne, 46, said. 'Because this was scary, and I did it, and I made it to the finale and I'm so proud of myself.'

'I have five-year-old twins, Willow and Ethan, and the first day we started doing this, I was getting ready to leave, and I said, ''Willow, I'm really scared'' and she said, ''Hang on'',' Cheyenne recalled. 

'She ran inside and brought out this little rock that says ''courage.'' And the beautiful wardrobe ladies sewed it inside my costume so I've had it with me the whole time,' he added.

Season six of The Masked Singer was won by Jewel, 47.
