Rebel Wilson, 42, lost 80lbs in hopes of becoming a mother after a fertility doctor told she would have a better chance of getting pregnant if she were 'healthier'
- Her weight loss of over 80lbs was inspired by her desire to become a mother
- A doctor told her her chances of having a child were better if she was 'healthier'
- She told People she does not have a partner now and can do it alone
- This comes after the star told a podcast she was in a relationship
For years she has been candid about the fact that she was looking at the prospect of freezing her eggs. But when she visited a fertility doctor, he told her it would be best if she got 'healthier' before she started thinking about a family.
And though the 42-year-old star is dating (she has yet to reveal her beau's name), she has considered becoming a parent alone. 'I would love to have a family. I'm just going for it by myself at the moment because of the biological clock,' she told People.

Rebel recently revealed on the U Up? podcast that she is 'happily in a relationship' with a mystery man whom she was introduced to by a mutual friend.
In her new People interview she said: 'If I meet the right person, great, and then they can fit in with whatever happens. It's great that the technology exists. You have so many options with surrogacy and sperm donors.'
She shared: 'I only started thinking of fertility when I was 39 so you feel quite late but then there are women in their mid-40s who've been successful.'
Rebel added: 'Look at Janet Jackson, it's pretty inspiring,' referring to the fact Janet gave birth to her son when she was 50.
Before: The Pitch Perfect star declared 2020 to be her 'Year Of Health' and left her fans agog as she shed the pounds; she is pictured in 2018
When she discussed fertility treatments with a doctor: 'He looked me up and down and said: "You'd do much better if you were healthier."'
Rebel confessed: I was taken aback. I thought: "Oh God, this's guy's so rude." He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight.'
She shared: 'It's almost like I didn't think of my own needs. I thought of a future child's needs that really inspired me to get healthier.'
The Bachelorette star also suffers from a hormonal disorder called polycystic ovarian syndrome, which can cause fertility problems by inhibiting ovulation.
Proud of her work: Rebel said that Fat Amy, her Pitch Perfect role, 'was probably the most favorite character I've ever played' because she 'loved representing and I was so confident'
She has insisted her fitness journey 'wasn't a goal to get to a certain weight. It was just being the healthiest version of myself.'
The Pitch Perfect actress declared 2020 to be her 'Year Of Health' and left her fans agog as she shed the pounds and documented the results on Instagram.
Rebel, who is 5'3", has previously credited Vivamayr, a luxury medical center and holistic retreat in Lake Altaussee, Austria, for her astonishing weight loss journey.
Now she has revealed that the process of improving her health involved 'dealing with the emotional issues that caused me to emotionally eat, and that's a process. You cry a lot, analyze things. I'd never done that before.'
Frank: Rebel, pictured in Pitch Perfect 3 with Anna Kendrick, noted: 'Sometimes it's hard doing a photo shoot next to your fellow actress and she's a third of the size of you'
The Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie actress shared: 'It's really hard to know why you don't feel worthy when people look at my life on paper and say you've done all these amazing things. That's what I'm trying to overcome.'
Although Fat Amy, her Pitch Perfect role, 'was probably the most favorite character I've ever played' because she 'loved representing and I was so confident,' she still had to cope with 'at times' feeling 'insecure.'
Rebel, whose Pitch Perfect co-stars included Anna Kendrick and Hailee Steinfeld, noted: 'Sometimes it's hard doing a photo shoot next to your fellow actress and she's a third of the size of you.'
She reflected: 'I was invisible in a way even when I was an international movie star. And then suddenly to have people want to carry your groceries, do nice things for you purely because of how you look, it's interesting.'
As seen in 2013: She told People that when she discussed fertility treatments with her doctor: 'He looked me up and down and said: "You'd do much better if you were healthier"'
The Australian comedy star pointed out: 'I know what it's like to be on the other side of that coin. And now I know what's it's like to get attention in the positive. There is a societal bias towards what society deems as good-looking.'
She acknowledged: 'It's not right. It sucks, it's unfair. I feel sad if somebody doesn't love the body they're in. You want to celebrate all body types but I also want to encourage people to be healthy.'
'Any woman who's gone through it, I really relate to. It's been an emotional rollercoaster. I don't know how it's going to end. But I'm still young enough to try.'
She explained on Instagram Live in late 2020 that while in the process of shedding pounds 'I do try to stay under 1,500 calories, because again of my body type.'
Then and now: Rebel is pictured at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival (left) and then on a red carpet in September 2021 (right) after her Year Of Health
However once she arrived at her goal weight of 75kg (approximately 165lbs), she began transitioning 'more into like a maintenance phase, and probably be about 2,000/2,500 because I do work out like a beast.'
Rebel has also previously revealed that before the Year Of Health her previous lowest weight was caused by a life-threatening bout of malaria.
'I was at my skinniest when I had malaria when I almost died, when I came out of hospital everyone was like: "Wow what did you do?" I almost died...' she said.
