West Side Story star Ariana DeBose jokingly convinces Bleachers' Jack Antonoff to change his band's name ahead of her SNL hosting debut

She earned a Golden Globe nomination for her acclaimed performance as Anita in Steven Spielberg's new adaptation of West Side Story.

And breakout star Ariana DeBose used her newfound clout to convince singer–songwriter Jack Antonoff to change the name of his band Bleachers ahead of her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live.

In a promo for her episode that was released Thursday, the 30-year-old dancer-turned-actress managed to gross the out the 37-year-old producer by informing him that people sometimes get intimate 'under the bleachers.'

Just teasing! Earlier this week, DeBose, 30, poked fun at Bleachers leader Jack Antonoff enough to make him want to change the band's name in a SNL promo featuring Bowen Yang that was released Thursday

In the clip, Ariana put on a busty display in an off-the-shoulder dress decorated with colorful pastel stripes, while Jack affected a nerdy–cool look with a black leather jacket and thick black glasses.

After she introduced herself and Jack's band Bleachers, cast member Bowen Yang — who sported newly dyed-blond hair — added, 'Such a fun name, Bleachers, like, "Hey, let's go make out under the bleachers."'

But the musician seemed offended at the idea.

'Nobody does that!' he interjected, while Ariana shot back, 'Yes, they do.'

The thought of kissing under the bleachers seemed to have turned the musician off of his own band name.

In another promo, she and Jack joined forces to poke fun at Bowen for changing his hair and nothing else about his life.

'Bowen, I love that new hair,' Ariana said after her introductions.

'Oh, you know what they say, "New Year, new hair,"' Bowen preened.

'What else is new Bowen doing? Is new Bowen going to the gym?' Jack jumped in passive-aggressively, to which the comedian replied, 'No...'

'Are you making healthier choices?' asked Ariana, which got a 'Nah' out of Bowen.

Antonoff suggested 'a dry January,' to which Bowen shouted, 'God, no!'

'So it's mostly the hair,' Ariana stated flatly.

'Yeah, it's just the hair,' Bowen concurred, looking dispirited.

Also on Thursday, Ariana stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to chat about her recent success with West Side Story.

Later in the interview, Jimmy turned the conversation toward her role in the Netflix original movie The Prom, which starred Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden and received mixed reviews from critics.

The actress and dancer recalled an awkward moment when she accidentally offended Meryl Streep while the Oscar winner was performing her song It's Not About Me on set.

'When Meryl is performing, you clap after every take,' she said, before clarifying that the Adaptation star was 'killing it.'

Out of it: But during one take, Ariana was preoccupied trying to get some dirt off of her skirt, and she was fiddling with it once everyone else on set began clapping at the end of the take

'I look up, and she says, "You're not clapping. Was it not... good?"' she recounted, nailing Streep's voice.

Ariana said she nervously replied, 'No, no, no, you were great!' before falling to her knees to honor Meryl.

'I literally got on the floor and bowed because I was so stressed out! And you bow to the queen and it all works out.'

She also joked that Nicole Kidman offered her carrots on set, which she would 'remember until the day I die.'

Ariana concluded the segment by gushing about her upcoming SNL hosting debut with the former cast member.

Surprisingly, she wasn't that nervous, though she joked about the reception on social media to the announcement that she was hosting.

'Most of Twitter was like, "Cool, cool, cool, didn't you just misspell Grande?' she joked, referring to Ariana Grande.
