Maxima teamed her stylish look with a patent top handbag with tortoiseshell handles and pair of killer nude heels.

Adding a touch of glamour to the relaxed look, Maxima opted for a gold bracelet decorated with blue and green gemstones and a pair of statement gold earrings with a pearl inside.

Her blonde tresses were loose around her shoulders while she opted for a glamorous make-up look with smokey eyeshadow plus a touch of bronze and peach blush.

Leiden University and the Dutch Royal Family maintain ties that go back to 1575, when William of Orange founded the University.

Many members of the Royal Family - including Maxima's husband King Willem-Alexander have studied in Leiden and several have received an honorary doctorate.

Leiden is the oldest university in the Netherlands, and the alma mater of Willem-Alexander's mother Queen Beatrix, as well as the sixth US president John Quincy Adams.

Maxima last visited the university over video call in April 2021, where she spoke to pupils, students and teaching staff about the challenges of online learning.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for Queen Maxima, who last Thursday stepped out with her husband King Willem-Alexander to present the Appeltjes van Oranje awards at Noordeinde Palace.

The annual awards recognise three outstanding or innovative projects that have succeeded in bringing different groups of people together.

And last Wednesday the Dutch royal travelled Amsterdam to open Jeroen Pit House to medical facility for chronically ill children.

The state of the art building also includes a sensory room and a home cinema to provide escapism to the patients staying there and their families.
