Victoria Beckham took to social media to share a series of throwback snaps on Friday to mark Emma Bunton's 46th birthday.

The former Spice Girl, 47, penned 'Happy Birthday @emmaleebunton! So many amazing memories together! We love you so much!' as she shared a slew of old images of herself with Emma to Instagram.

In one snap, Baby Spice wowed in a blue mini dress and knee high white boots while Posh sported a satin slip dress as the pair wrapped their arms around each other.

In another, the baby-faced stars posed for a sweet selfie as Victoria showcased her famous pout and Emma donned her signature pigtail hairstyle.  

The pair held hands in another nostalgic shot, as they walked the red carpet at the 1998 European Music Awards, in tiny skin-tight dresses at the height of their heyday. 

Victoria showcased her toned legs in a gold bandeau mini dress while Emma gave a peace sign in a sparkling silver ensemble. 

Mel B also appeared in the throwback montage in her signature leopard print ensemble.

It comes after Emma recently spoke to her close friend Holly Willoughby on the This Morning star's By The Light of the Moon podcast.

And revealed that breaking up with her husband Jade Jones at the beginning of their 23-year-relationship 'worked a treat'.

She explained in a new interview that the break 'served a purpose' and 'gave them time to grow as people'.

 Emma shared: 'It gave us time to grow as people and when we came back together it was amazing.

Emma and Jade, 42, met when they were 21 and 19 respectively, and the popstar was quick to gush about their instant chemistry, revealing that she instantly knew Jade was her 'soul mate'.

When Holly branded her 'lucky' for 'meeting the love of her life early on', Emma explained: 'It was very immediate, as soon as I looked at him I thought ''this is so special''.'

She went on: 'He felt exactly the same. We had very magical moments very early on and we were both taken back about that.

'We would talk about children, it was very intense very quickly. Both of us knew we wanted to be together. We're soul mates.'

 She added: '[But] it hit us that we were so young and both of us haven't done everything, we did have a break.

'I think it was more ''oh my god, we've met the person we're going to spend the rest of our life with and we're 19 and 21'', it was such a bizarre time.'

Holly then asked: 'Do you think having that break helped? Did it serve its purpose?' to which Emma replied: 'Definitely. First of all, I was on tour, he was on tour, so I think we would have both taken that time apart anyway.'

She went on: 'But it gave us time to grow as people and when we came back together it was amazing.  

'But we needed that time to go ''OK, I've met that person that I'm in love with and want to spend the rest of my life with, what do I kind of need to do in this little time just to explore and know it's 100%?'' It worked a treat.'

Emma and Jade - who was in boy band Damage between 1996 and 2001 - share children Beau, 13, and Tate, 10, and in July tied the knot after 23 years together.
